Serving the Batesburg-Leesville community

Soup Kitchen & Food Pantry

Kitchen_edited.jpg

Inspired by a 2015 youth group missionary trip to NYC serving soup kitchens and food banks, two of our chaperones decided to begin the Soup Kitchen ministry in the Batesburg-Leesville community.  Currently the soup kitchen serves bagged lunches  from 10-12 on Saturdays of each week.  On the fourth Saturday, a hot meal is served from 10:30-12.  If you know of anyone in the community in need of a meal, please let the church office know.  If you would like to volunteer or have donations, please call Jennifer Spradley (803) 582-9229.

The Wittenberg Food Pantry was established in 2010 and currently serves approximately 40-50 families per week.  Funded by donations from church members and the community, the Food Pantry has distributed over $300,000 in food since inception.  The Food Pantry currently operates on Fridays and Saturdays from 9 am until noon at our location at 233 N Lee Street in Batesburg-Leesville, SC.  Donations and volunteers are always welcomed.

Blessing Box

The Wittenberg Lutheran Church Blessing Box was established in 2020 to serve individuals in need of food and hygiene items outside of our Food Pantry and Soup Kitchen hours.  The box is located near our office at 233 N Lee Street and can be accessed 24/7 for those in need.  Donations for the blessing box are always welcomed.
